£360m will be invested by the UK to secure its place as a technological superpower by 2030. This funding aims to boost innovation, attract the best talent to the UK, and explore greater adoption of AI.
£49.5m will be used to reduce congestion in Britain’s ‘rural capital of food’, Melton Mowbray, by introducing a new single-carriageway road, new junctions, and active travel routes.
A recent report suggested that it would cost Bristol £18bn for a rapid transport system, but Mayor Marvin Rees has a £7bn plan that includes an underground network.
South Gloucestershire Council is exploring options to make cycling and catching the bus along the A38 easier. With work expected to start in 2024, the council is asking the public for their views on new cycle and bus lanes.
Weston-super-Mare has received over £8m to regenerate Birnbeck Island and Pier. £4.47m will be used to restore buildings on the island, and £3.55m will be used to strengthen the pier legs and add a temporary walkway. 
With an extra £14m allocated towards improving Highland roads, Scotland’s Highland Council now has £20m to spend on managing the UK’s longest road network. 
Plans have been shared for the £44m proposal to turn the disused Thomas Quarry in the Mournes, into a world-class visitor experience. The plans aim to attract tourists, and include a visitor centre with cable cars giving greater access to the surrounding mountains.

The Framework will have 8 Lots: Lot 1 – Hardware and Software and Associated Services Lot 2 – Hardware Lot 3 – Software Lot 4 – Information Assured Technology Lot 5 – Health and Social Care Technology Lot 6 – Education Technology Lot 7 – Sustainability and Circular IT Lot 8 – Technology Catalogue.

Description: Network Rail Southern Region intends to establish a single Minor Works Buildings and Civils Framework (MWF-B&C) that aligns with Network Rail’s requirements of prompt and efficient delivery of the CP7 and CP8 work banks, as well as rationalising several route-based frameworks into one Regional Framework, thus providing regional consistency on how this work is managed. Once established, it is intended that the MWF-B&C will maximise productivity and efficiency through the use of modern methods of working, technology, collaboration, and relationship focused contracting.
