Streaming service Tubi certainly got the attention of confused viewers wondering where their remote went when its 2023 Super Bowl ad aired Sunday.
The 15-second commercial made it seem like the 2023 Super Bowl broadcast had returned from a commercial break when, suddenly, the TV screen exited the game and opened the Tubi app.
“No, you didn’t sit on the remote,” Tubi said in the video’s description on YouTube. “But on Super Bowl Sunday, we fooled audiences into thinking they did.”
Tubi is a popular streaming service and its content is free, which could offer some relief to consumers as many paid platforms bump prices.
