The U.K. government will announce an updated data transfer agreement with the U.S. as early as 21 Sept., Politico reports. The deal was previously alluded to in a broader U.K.-U.S. digital policy agreement announced in June. The U.K. government will need to apply secondary regulations before the agreement is finalized. Editor’s note: IAPP Research and Insights Director Joe Jones analyzed the U.K.-U.S. data-sharing compact after it was agreed in principle in June.
